The three signs your spouting is the actual problem

Water marks under the eaves usually get blamed on the roof. Often it is the spouting falling the wrong way.

Staining on the soffit, plants growing in the gutter, and water sheeting over the front edge in heavy rain. Any of the three and the spouting is worth checking before the roof is. Spouting is supposed to fall consistently toward the outlets. Brackets sag, joints let go, and a run that was right when it went on twenty years ago now holds water in the middle. That standing water is what rots the fascia behind it. It is usually a re-hang rather than a replacement, and it is a fraction of what people expect to pay when they ring us about a leaking roof.
